In Louisville, freshly convicted Karen Sypher says that she knew she could never get a fair trial, that Rick Pitino is too powerful and Louisville too small for her to have a fair chance. However, the facts still argue otherwise: she did persuade her friend to make phone calls to Pitino and lied about that, she did attempt to extort him, and there were any number of inconsistencies in her account of what happened in the restaurant. For instance, it seems bizarre to us that she would give him a ride home after he supposedly raped her.
She probably would have been better served have filed charges immediately after the incident rather than waiting so very long.
