UNC has updated their policy about Facebook and Twitter, and among other things will now require that âeach team must identify at least one coach or administrator who is responsible for having access to and regularly monitor the content of team membersâ social networking sites and postings.â
So much for treating athletes like adults.
We will confess to enjoying reading Tweets from basketball players over there. It's humanizing for one thing. We are as partisan as anyone else, but it's too easy to fall into the trap of just damning everyone. True, it's fun, but if Shane Battier or Grant Hill had gone there, it wouldn't have made them bad people.
It seems to us that they are overreacting.
