Coach K always says what he thinks about teams he coaches, and what he says about the US national team this summer is that ["w]e like the team that we're developing, but it's not a powerhouse. It'll be very much a developing team. We hope that we'll have our best product by the medal round."
There aren't any guarantees, and there never are in basketball. This team could be lacking on the inside, but they have a chance to make up for that with quickness and defensive pressure.
One thing's for sure: anyone who prepares for the last American team won't be ready for this one.
