Now here's some good news: former St. Louis coach Charlie Spoonhour, who has been at Duke awaiting a lung transplant, found a match Saturday and is now recuperating after an apparently successful transplant.
It's kind of hard to imagine that at say 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon, the doctors come in and tell you that there is a match, and within a few hours, you are put under and wake up with new lungs. Seems like a lot happening very quickly.
Spoonhour is 71, and here's hoping he has a good run left.
