The times and broadcast schedules for the ACC-Big Ten Challenge were announced Monday, as listed below.
We will make our final picks closer to the games, but from here, here's what we see:
We think Virginia could be better prepared than Minnesota, not least of all because Tubby Smith's teams tend to start slow. Bonus attraction: Ralph Sampson III taking on his father's alma mater.
Iowa is still having trouble and like Wake Forest, has a new coach (and Fran McCaffrey played for Wake once upon a time). Right now, we're guessing Wake is in a better position.
Northwestern will frustrate Georgia Tech and right now we're tempted to take them.
We will go with Ohio State over Florida State, Clemson over Michigan, and UNC over Illinois.
On Wednesday, Indiana-BC is a tough matchup, but Indiana's further on the road to recovery. Wisconsin will wear down State, Purdue should be Virginia Tech, Maryland will take Penn State, and Duke prevails over Michigan State.
So that works out to 6-5 for the ACC.
