Michael Rosenberg can't quite figure out why Brandon Knight refused to sign a letter of intent, opting instead for a scholarship agreement with Kentucky.
Since Rosenberg is having a tough time understanding, perhaps he should talk to Walter Pitchford, Jr., who signed with Depaul before their coaching transition, and found himself locked in, with Depaul unwilling to release him. They finally have promised to do so, but given his situation, we could see why someone focused on basketball as a career might take this issue seriously.
In fairness to Rosenberg, Knight's parents suggested the scholarship agreement.
Incidentally, do we remember Elton Brand doing this as well? Is that correct? Does anyone remember?
