One of the really good people associated with Duke athletics is Professor Michael Gillespie. A former college football player, among his other good deeds at Duke, he helped identify David Cutcliffe as a potential replacement for Ted Roof.
An essay he wrote about athletics got David Brooks of the New York Times worked up enough to write a column about it. We must say the essay sounds fascinating based on what Brooks said about it.
