It looks increasingly as if the NCAA is going to move to 96 teams, which, among other things, will kill the beauty of the anticipation of the pairings. We would hope that anyone with a lick of sense would require that any at-large bids at least have a winning record. The whole game of bragging rights for most bids will also be gone, and the first round of games is very likely to be a complete joke. Why wouldn't it?
On the bright side, if they do it, then there are much fewer reasons for the ACC not to return to a round-robin format.
