In Tuesday night ACC action, Wake Forest defeated Boston College, 92-85. The Eagles have been improving and it was striking that this game was close even without Joe Trapani, who was left home due to illness.

Wake Forest basically won the game on the foul line, foiling a B.C. comeback.

In Wednesday night's games, Florida State travels to Clemson, Georgia Tech visits Miami, and Virginia Tech travels to State.

Clemson, really, really, really needs Demontez Stitt back at full strength. Since their convincing win over Carolina, Clemson has gone 2-4. They still have time to turn things around, and with a three-game home stand, could do it.

It'll be fun to watch Trevor Booker take on Solomon Alabi. Their strengths are very different and how that will resolve itself should be very interesting.

Georgia Tech-Miami could also prove interesting. In the last two games, Tech has fallen apart in the second half: pretty much the entire second half against Duke and the last few minutes against N.C. State. After the State game, Paul Hewitt fell apart himself, more or less having a press conference meltdown.

On the other hand, Miami has been nothing close to impressive thus far. It won't be easy, but Tech has shown they can give a game away. If Miami steps up, they could take it.

Since joining the ACC, for whatever reason, Virginia Tech has struggled with State. Tech as of now may be in the NCAA field, but a loss to last place State won't help. Richard Howell has moved into the starting lineup and should provide solid inside support for Tracy Smith. Don't be shocked if State shows some sharp improvement.

Virginia and Maryland were scheduled to play, but the game has been postponed due to the massive snow in Virginia/Maryland area. They are planning to play on Monday instead.
