State had no problems at all with A&M, and El Sid says that Tracy Smith may be back for the San Diego game. State has won 4 out of 5 without him. True, they haven't been great, but a young team has to learn how to win. If they get away with just one loss in Smith's absence, they've done well.
Scott Woods bagged 18 for State, Ryan Harrow 14, and C.J. Leslie also had 14 and 11 boards. He's becoming a pretty good rebounder, although he was just 6-14 against an inferior team.
Rutger's hopes of slowing UNC down didn't work, as UNC was up 42-22 at the half.
As we've said before, UNC is in position to possibly win every game as a run up to the Duke game, although the B.C. game is more interesting than it once promised to be.  We're not sure UVa can take them; Virginia Tech has four players out with injuries; Georgia Tech has no inside game; Clemson is still learning Brad Brownell's system, while Miami is unproven and State is too young. FSU is intriguing, but as good as their defense is, their offense struggles.
On Wednesday, B.C. takes on Rhode Island, an underrated program, Clemson welcomes Jeff Lebo's ECU squad, Maryland takes on North Florida, and Wake travels to Richmond.
It'd be impressive if Wake won at Richmond, but we're not holding our breath at this point. We could see Rhody winning, but otherwise, the ACC teams should prevail.
Wow, who knew? Former Tech and Cremins assistant Kevin Cantwell is coaching high school and having the time of his life.
