Still, a win is a win and maybe they toughened up some.  Not from three point range though:  the Heels were just 2-8 from behind the line. And they were just 16-27 from the free throw line.

FSU can expect to see a lot of zone after Florida pretty much shut them down with one. Give the 'Noles credit:  they came back from a large deficit and could conceivably have won if the breaks had gone their way.

For BC, things are looking up. The loss to Yale was more or less a quesiton of a new system starting up, and otherwise, they have just a 10 point loss to Wisconsin. They've put together three very credible games - Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and now Cal.  It's pretty impressive when you think about it.

Injuries have really cut into Virginia Tech and the Hokies only really went six deep against UNLV.  Jeff Allen got in foul trouble again, leaving after 28 minutes. Terrell Bell picked up four but played almost the entire game.  Tyrone Garland got three in four minutes.

Dorenzo Hudson had an awful game, shut out offensively and gave the ball up five times too.

Won't win many like that.
