ACC Roundup!

In Turkey Day ACC action, B.C. pulled out a thriller over Texas A&M 67-65 which is significant:  Mark Turgeon is a superior and established coach in a power conference and for Steve Donahue to pull this off is a nice little coup for B.C. Reggie Jackson was the star and controlled the end of the game.

ACC Friday Action!
BC vs Wisconsin 12:00 ESPN/ESPNU
Va. Tech vs. OSU 2:30 ESPN
Ga Tech vs. UTEP 5:30 X
SC State @ Clemson 7:00 X
Elon @ Maryland 8:00 Comcast SportsNet

Friday is a bigger test - no pun intended - against Wisconsin, where Bo Ryan likes to have a tall roster.  Incidentally, somehow the Badgers managed only 50 points against Manhattan, with the Jaspers putting up just 35.

Out at the 76 Classic, Virginia Tech beat Cal State Northridge, 72-56, but Eric Green joined the Hokies injured list with a pulled calf muscle.  They really only went seven deep, so you might conclude depth is going to be a serious issue. Jeff Allan fouled out.

Five games on tap, including the previously mentioned B.C. and Wisconsin: Tech takes on Oklahoma State, Georgia Tech gets UTEP in Atlantic City, Clemson hosts South Carolina State, and Maryland relaxes a bit with Elon. Presumably, anyway.

Speaking of Maryland, the Terps got a Turkey of the Year from SI.com for their behavior following the Duke game last year: "Cops in riot gear entered the fray with clubs, pepper spray and pepper balls, arresting 28 people in a scene described by one student as 'a war zone.' Five people, including a police officer who was punched in the kisser, were treated at a local hospital."

Not long after this, of course, was the police-student altercation.
