In Sunday's ACC action, Florida State rolled over Greensboro, 97-73, and Maryland sank Maine, 89-59.

We realize it's UNC-G and not a major powerhouse.  Nonetheless:  Chris Singleton puts everyone else on notice with a superb triple double:  22 points, 11 boards, and 10 steals.  That's a serious night's work.  Okaro White and Michael Snaer added sixteen each.

Bad news to counter the good:  the turnover plague continued as the 'Noles coughed it up 20 times - against Greensboro? Five more and Singleton could have had a quadruple turnover.

In College Park, a slimmed down Jordan Williams had another nice big man game, finishing with 20 and 11.

It's hard to learn a lot from these games unless the team has a glaringly bad issue.  For Florida State it could be turnovers.  Hard to say what it could be for Maryland just yet.

Monday is an unusually busy night with five ACC games: Miami gets a good test at Memphis, Clemson plays Wofford at home, Georgia Tech takes on Kennesaw State, Virginia will tussle with USC Upstate, and Wake Forest gets Hampton.

Normally, the second patsy of the season wouldn't be a big deal, but after losing to Stetson the other night, this game is really important for Wake.  The hiring of Jeff Bzdelik was very controversial, and if the program appears to be in a state of early meltdown -- whether it is or not -- that's bad news. Win, and it's no big deal. Lose, and it's a serious problem.

As UNC's effort to put last season in the past continues, a lot rides on the thin shoulders of John Henson.  He has gained 20 pounds and a lot of confidence.

State doesn't open until later in the week, but it's going to be fun to see how their talent shakes out.
