Duke was much more impressive against Army than they were against Richmond, winning 35-13. Particularly impressive was backup QB Sean Renfree, who had two second-half TDs and hit seven of his first eight passes.
Duke went down 10-0 but fought back and took control. All things considered, it was probably about what the doctor ordered.

Around the conference, everyone but Virginia won, but there were some eye-openers:
A UNC team which is supposed to be on the rise, had to go to the very end to beat UConn, with a safety. Maryland was taken to overtime by James Madison before winning on a field goal, 38-35. But most shockingly, Jacksonville State gave Florida State a hell of a game before falling 19-9.
They led FSU until the final minute, but the Seminoles scored twice in the last 35 seconds. Considering what they used to be, this is unimaginable. No one is going to be intimidated any time soon.
On the brighter side, Wake came back to beat Stanford, B.C. had no problem with Kent State, Virginia Tech whipped Marshall by 42, and State was very impressive against Murray State, winning 65-7.
The heat at Virginia will continue to rise as the 'Hoos lost to TCU, 30-14.
