Coaches have been arguing for some time that not being able to work with their players in the off-season is really detrimental. The NCAA is considering a way to improve that: basically, if the player is in summer school, then the coaches can spend time working with him. They'll only get three hours a week, and only two of those will be in the gym, but it's an improvement. It's also a chance to counter all the people who like to whisper things to young players that may or may not be true.
