More On Tony Bennett To UVA

Is Tony Bennett a good basketball coach?   There's not much question about that. He's significantly better than average.  The question about Bennett isn't whether he can coach, it's whether his offense will go over.  Virginia needs to sell tickets and get people excited.  If his team is throwing up 54-47 wins, fans won't be thrilled.

The risk of this sort of thing was pretty well illustrated by Herb Sendek, who drove State fans crazy with a ponderous offense.  The Triangle joke now is to taunt State fans over running him off, but in truth, there was a widespread sense of relief when he bolted.
That could happen at Virginia too, if he has a dishwater dull offense.  We're huge fans of defense, but at some level, you have to engage people.
