ACC Roundup!

In Tuesday's sole ACC game, B.C. knocked off Florida State, 72-67, behind a key three pointer from Tyrese Rice.  The loss moves FSU out of a tie for second place and leaves that perch to Duke and Clemson.  With both in action tomorrow night, the standings could shake out a good bit.

At 16-10, and an RPI of 66, the Hokies are just about cooked.  If there is a must-win on their schedule, this is just about it. And even if they win, it's not like things get easy: Duke, UNC, and FSU are on deck.  The first two are at home, which is a break, but still.  What are the odds they sweep all four games?

Still, hope is there until it's not.  And it's not like it's a minor game for Clemson.  They've publicly announced that they're stalking UNC and to catch them, they can't afford to lose to anyone.

For the first time in decades, the ACC is selling tickets to the tournament to the general public.  It's a combination of two things:  the enormous size of the Georgia Dome, and the lousy economy.   But still, it's a chance for a lot of people who never got to go to get to go.

J.P.Giglio suggests dumping Miami and B.C. and going to ten teams and back to the round robin ("It's not too late, ACC"). Of course, this is the exact argument Coach K made when expansion was being considered.

We like the round-robin. No one but us would like this idea, but why not go to it anyway?  It'd be totally insane, over the top, and draining.  And it'd be unique and great.

Dan Weiderer projects the ACC post-season and draws the bubble line almost where we do, but doesn't think Maryland will make it.  think they have a shot.

Here's a video interview with Ben McCauley of NC State talking about his roller coaster ride in Raleigh.
