The ACC has named the 2009 ACC Menâs Basketball Tournament Legends and among their number is former Duke star Jim Spanarkel. Also named, among others, were State's Monte Towe, UNC's Charles Scott (if he doesn't like Charlie, and he doesn't, people should really quit calling him that), and Tech's Dennis Scott.
All of them were great, but Spanarkel was amazing. He was just 6-5, and thoroughly pigeon-toed, yet managed to take the game inside to big men on a regular basis. Jon Scheyer is the closest thing we've seen to him lately. Any coach would love to have him.
