Crazies Who Care!

Crazies Who Care is a student group that combines fundraising and volunteerism with Duke Athletics.  In our first year, our members volunteered at the Emily K. Center and were successful in raising over $8,000 to benefit the Emily Krzyzewski Center and the Duke Children’s Hospital. Our primary method of fundraising focuses on student involvement, taking $1 donations from students as they enter Cameron Indoor Stadium at each home basketball game.

This year, our goal is to double the amount of money raised, but we need your help! To achieve this objective, we are announcing our Men’s Basketball Double-Double Challenge. By participating in the Challenge, Duke Basketball fans can closely follow the 2008-2009 men’s basketball season while supporting two of Durham's best charities.

Participation is simple: choose a stat, or stats, for which you wish to sponsor the team for the 2008-2009 season, and pledge to donate an amount based on the number of times that statistic occurs throughout the season. For example, if this program had occurred last year, and a sponsor chose to donate $0.10 for every rebound that occurred, the sponsor's total donation would have amounted to $125.50.

We are very excited to offer this unique opportunity to Blue Devil fans. With your support we can continue to make a difference in the Durham community.

If you would like to participate in the program, please send e-mail to ajc19@duke.edu
