We absolutely love living in a time when Sudanese refugees can establish their game in Australia, get a scholarship in the U.S., and be pegged as a first-round draft pick. How cool is that? Well, going to UConn isn't that cool, but what can you say.
What you can say is this writer is either geographically ignorant or doesn't understand American recruiting. Check this quote out: "But revered UCONN head coach Jim Calhoun, an NCAA Hall of Famer, actually flew to remote Martinsville in Virginia - where Smith has based himself when on tour - to see what the fuss was all about."
Two things: 1) he might be revered in Connecticut, but most of the Big East can't stand him, much less the rest of the country, and 2) Martinsville is small but not remote. That'd be Grundy.
