Interesting Comments From Ty Lawson

One of the big differences between Roy Williams' UNC program and that of Dean Smith's was the psychological control Smith exerted: he had complete control over that program.

Williams?  Not in the same way.  Take, for instance, Ty Lawson's comments on his arrest, particularly his comments on what he could expect for discipline:   "He said I probably was already punished by Larry Bird and them calling, Indiana -- not going to the league, not being able to.  So I don't think too many things [will happen]. Probably one sprint or a couple of sprints, but not too much."

It's entirely possible that that's how Smith would have handled it, but his players would never have felt comfortable saying so.

The article is really about his fall from the NBA draft, but those were the most striking comments to us.
