This is an older article, but still worth reading, about former Virginia star Gus Gerard. Gerard played for Virginia in the '70s, and while David Thompson, Phil Ford, and most of all John Lucas were the prominent substance abusers in the ACC from that era, Gerard pushed his luck, too. He survived, and has a story to tell.
