Here's a long piece on Sonny Vaccaro, who is on a crusade to prove that the NCAA is corrupt and hypocritical. That this is somewhat like a pimp damning a whore for taking money apparently eludes Sonny, but hey, it takes all kinds.
Is the NCAA corrupt and hypocritical? In revenue sports, it would be hard to argue that it's not. Is Vaccaro, after 40 years of corrupting the game, the guy to lead this crusade? That's a bit hard to accept. If he really feels so strongly, he could make up for his role in creating a cesspool by giving away most of his fortune and educating some of the kids who didn't get it the first time around. But he'll keep his pool and his mansion, thank you very much.
