Over 20 Former Duke Greats Return to Highlight Annual Event

DURHAM, N.C. – The sixth annual K Academy, America’s premier college fantasy basketball camp, is set to run from June 4-8 in historic Cameron Indoor Stadium and many of the all-time greats in Duke Basketball history will return to the sidelines. Highlighting the all-star coaching staffs at the K Academy is four of Duke’s retired jerseys - Mike Gminski, Christian Laettner, Jason Williams, and J.J. Redick (Orlando Magic).

They’ll be joined by past Duke All-Americas Mike Gminski, Mark Alarie, Roshown McLeod, Chris Carrawell, Mike Dunleavy (Indiana Pacers), and Chris Duhon (Chicago Bulls). In addition – Duke greats Alaa Abdelnaby, Kenny Blakeney, Robert Brickey, Marty Clark, Chris Collins, Ken Dennard, Sean Dockery, Nate James, Dahntay Jones, Billy King, Ricky Price, Shavlik Randolph (Philadelphia 76ers), Quin Snyder, Vince Taylor and Steve Wojciechowski complete the coaching ranks.

The five-day camp features competitors 35 years of age and above whom all come to learn basketball and also compete on a team coached by several of the Duke legends. A lively social program and a gala auction for Durham’s Emily Krzyzewski Center highlight the evenings and make for a memorable event year in and year out.

The proceeds of the Academy go towards the Duke Basketball Legacy Fund, making the fee of $10,000 per camper partially tax-deductible. A couple of last minute spots still remain so please contact Associate Director of the Legacy Fund Rachel Curtis at rcurtis@duaa.duke.edu or (919) 613-7501 as soon as possible.
