Blanton sends us this - great news!You may have seen this already, but in today's USA Today, on the bottom of p. 2C, there is a piece about schools/teams recognized by the NCAA for "high academic scores," based on several criteria including academic eligibility and grad rates.
Kansas men's basketball team is highlighted in the article, having "made the cut" as the national champ, and it mentions the 7 other major conference basketball teams that made it, including Duke (and UNC and Wake, for that matter).
It goes on to list the 7 football teams that made it, and -- of course -- Duke made that list as well.
What the article doesn't highlight is that Duke is the only major conference school that made the list for both men's basketball and football.
Pretty impressive! And after Coach Cut gets football going, even more so.
