A Chance To Learn More About China And Tibet

As the events around Tibet and the Olympics continue to bring attention to China, although probably not the sort they had in mind, it's good to turn to people who have first-hand knowledge of the situation. Not many Duke people, other than those who grew up in China, will have the insights that Scott Savitt has.

Savitt has spent a great deal of time in China and gotten into a fair amount of trouble with the government, which apparently didn't appreciate his journalistic expressions.

Anyway, Savitt is currently organizing, or helping to organize, "A Conversation on Tibet," which will be held on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 in the Griffith Film Theater at the Bryan Center. It should be interesting, and with several different perspectives, may show you things you never considered.
