Sidney Lowe at N.C. State and Maryland's Gary Williams are the only ACC men's head coaches who also played varsity basketball in the league. Both celebrate birthdays during the regular season.
Lowe turned 47 on Jan. 21. He is the same age as Virginia's Dave Leitao, who played at Northeastern.
The average age of ACC men's coaches entering this season was 53.
Maryland's Williams was oldest at 62; his birthday is March 4. Virginia Tech's Seth Greenberg and Wake Forest's Dino Gaudio also were born in March. Three coaches were also born in May.
Miami's Frank Haith is the baby of the group, having turned 42 on the eve of the 2007-08 season. He is 20 years younger than Gary Williams.
