Barry Jacobs On Fast ACC Starts!

Three conference games were played in December. Boston College won narrowly at Maryland. Wake Forest beat Virginia Tech at home on a buzzer-beater by Ish Smith. Florida State won on a jumper by Jason Rich in the final seconds at Georgia Tech.

Clemson and UNC met on Jan. 6 at Clemson in a taut and thrilling contest which UNC won in overtime.

BC or Wake will win a second straight ACC game when those teams meet at Winston-Salem on Jan. 12. FSU goes that day to Clemson, where it will attempt to match its best start ever in ACC competition.

Other ACC debuts: Miami hosts Georgia Tech on Jan. 12; N.C. State visits North Carolina on the 12th; and Duke and Virginia meet at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Jan. 13.
