Alison Levine Down Under! (Way Under)

Long-time DBR reader Alison Levine is nothing if not adventurous. Her latest trip: the Geographic South Pole. Alison, a Fuqua grad, sent us the following note. Congratulations to her on a remarkable achievement.

After nearly 600 miles of skiing I finally made it to the geographic South Pole on Jan 12th. Here are some photos of me at the actual South Pole and also some shots of the 150 lb sled I hauled the entire way. I am the first American to successfully complete this route which was originally pioneered by legendary Italian explorer Reinhold Messner nearly 20 years ago. Since Messner’s traverse to the Pole, only two other teams (both Norwegian) have repeated this journey. Now I know why. IT IS TOUGH.

GO DUKE!!!!
