Mike Nifong has apologized, sort of. This is an excerpt:
"To the extent that I made judgments that ultimately proved to be incorrect, I apologize to the three students that were wrongly accused."
You can read the whole thing here (in Flash). The second paragraph is the traditional Nifong yes-but.
Still: if Nifong can apologize, even a limited, cover-my-butt apology, why can't those members of the Duke faculty whose behavior was almost as egregiously wrong give it a shot?
