Barry Jacobs On A Great ACC Streak

One of the most impressive streaks ever compiled in NCAA competition has ended. Every year since 1980, the ACC placed at least two teams in the Sweet 16. But this year, after two rounds of competition only North Carolina remains. It's doubtful any other league will come close to matching the ACC's run of 27 straight seasons with two or more representatives in the regional semifinals. The longest current streak now belongs to the Big East, with at least two teams in the Sweet 16 (Georgetown and Pittsburgh) for the sixth year in a row.
