In the other ACC games Tuesday night, Miami barely outlasted UMass, 72-71,
but that's not as bad as N.C. State having to go to overtime to beat UNCG,
95-93. In State's defense, though, UNCG went berserk from the line,
shooting 16-36. State balanced it out by pounding the ball inside and
making up ground on the free throw line (31-38). State also only went six
deep.

Chances are State will struggle soon, and probably quite often. But
they're becoming a striking team, and a fun one to follow.

On Wednesday night, Tech hosts Winston-Salem, B.C. will mug Yale, Virginia
Tech gets a weak Richmond, Virginia takes on mighty Gonzaga, and Penn goes down
to UNC to take on the Heels.

But - man, this sounds funny - the big game is in Tallahassee, where Clemson
brings their fancy shnancy 14-0 record to town. Florida State is playing
reasonably well, too; their win over Florida looks more and more
impressive. We'll learn a lot by tomorrow.

Wake
Forest lost the Fiesta Bowl to Louisville,
but give the Deacs credit: it was
an amazing year.
