In Wednesday night ACC action, Virginia Tech beat UNCG, 74-51, UNC survived a
gutty Virginia, 79-69, and Maryland knocked off Maryland, 63-58, in a bit of a
surprise. It was at Maryland, too. Duke, Maryland, and N.C. State,
three teams used to NCAA bids and respective levels of success, are each 0-2. So
is FSU, but it's not a strange feeling down there.

Virginia hung with UNC for about 30 minutes, which is pretty respectable for
a team with no significant way to counter UNC's size.

You probably already know that Georgia Tech's Zach
Peacock was suspended for the Duke game for fighting.

Marques Johnson, who recently bailed out at Tennessee, will
transfer to N.C. State next year.
