In a broader context, but nonetheless, it
hurts. This game was pretty much scheduled as a definite win, and now it
has boomeranged into something which could really hurt.
There will be a call for Ted Roof's head after this, but firing coaches is a
big part of what has gotten Duke into this mess. The Pittsburgh Steelers
have had two coaches since the 70s, and the Dodgers, before the O' Malleys sold
the team, made it a point not to fire managers just because they had a tough
year or two.
Building is going to take patience. Consider this our Wagner and move
on to hopefully better things.
