Team USA Update!

One of the guys who really intrigues us for the national team is Bruce
Bowen,
who's a tremendous defender. However, at 35, he's near the end of his
career, and may not have enough left in the tank for the Olympics. But
he's passionate and focused, and he'll give everything.

We also liked some of his insights about the strategy, which is to play
overwhelming defense to generate transition opportunities, which makes the zone
much less useful (so does a significant lead) and makes it harder in general for
the Euroweenies and others to defend the U.S.

Great mistake in this column: Shawn Marion suffered a knee surgery in
practice Monday...what a day!

In the Virginia Tech student paper, David
Covucci has a pretty good analysis of the Olympic team
, better than some
professional journalists we've seen lately.
