In the New Yorker, Malcolm Gladwell discusses a new book, "The Wages Of
Wins," by a trio of economists, who apply an algorithm to NBA players and
discover, among other things, that
Alan Iverson and Ben Gordon really, really suck. Quick, someone get
Billy King a copy!
Of course, nothing can measure a will to win, and despite the comments about
basketball experts not knowing everything, it should be mentioned that virtually
everything gets charted. But on the other hand, they're surely right that
everything that's charted is not correlated and analyzed so thoroughly.
