If you read Seth Davis's article about State's search (linked yesterday) and the problems they
are having, you'll understand State is in a bind when it comes to hiring a new
basketball coach. What a lot of Duke fans may not realize is that State is
not just falling behind Duke and UNC in basketball, but that they are falling
behind UNC - who they hate a lot more than Duke - in
just about everything.
And Brett Friedlander says State
should just go ahead and hire Dereck Whittenburg since they'll have to
anyway, since no one else seems to want the job.
