A few years ago we were getting ready to leave Cameron and had one of those moments when you look over and see someone whose face you've seen on television so often you feel like you know them: sitting next to us briefly was none other than former Vice President Dan Quayle.
Looking for something clever to say (and failing), we said, "didn't expect to see you here.
Quayle slapped us on the back and said "my boy plays lacrosse here," and bounded out.
Needless to say, we had forgotten about that brief encounter until just the last couple of days, and as far as we know, no one else has thought of interviewing either Quayle to ask them what they think of the lacrosse situation at Duke. But it's a great interview for whoever wants to do it.
And for what it's worth, he didn't strike us as the complete moron he was made out to be during his time in office.
