Many in the media continue to take a skeptical turn about the Duke lacrosse
case. As the first story in this list points out, even the Durham police
Crimestoppers have adjusted their definition of whatever happened, going
from this: "The victim was sodomized, raped, assaulted and robbed. This
horrific crime sent shock waves throughout our community..." to this:
"The victim alleges that she was sodomized, raped,
assaulted and robbed." [emphasis added]...and eighteen minutes later, to
this: "The complainant alleges that she was sodomized,
raped, assaulted and robbed." [emphasis added].
Pressure is also growing on D.A. Nifong, whose judgement has been questioned
by several legal figures, who suggest he has tried the case in the media and
acted improperly. As the second link suggests, some also think that
politics is playing a role in his actions.
