ACC Roundup

In Friday night ACC action, Georgia Tech had a solid win against Georgia,
putting the Bulldogs down 78-69 in a major rivalry game. ACC! ACC!
ACC! Seriously, that's a nice win for Tech, particularly after Georgia
bagged Gonzaga the other night.

No great surprise to see UNC knock off St. Louis, 69-48. The Billikens have
had a couple of good stretches in recent years. They had fun with Charlie
Spoonhour, who admitted he took the job partly because he'd be able to see the
Cardinals play. They did manage to slow UNC down, although they still lost by
21. And Wake topped Richmond, 72-59 to go to 7-4.

We had no idea what a Billiken was, though we'd always wondered. If you
have, then here's
your answer.

Saturday is a big day for the conference with seven games on tap. The
big game of the day? BC and Kansas. That should be pretty
interesting: KU is underachieving and B.C. is puttering along at
7-2. We'll see.

Meanwhile, tomorrow Bob
Knight is poised to tie Dean Smith's all-time win record.
