In the Fox Sunday night (okay, late afternoon) game, Virginia Tech survived
Wake Forest, 63-60, to open ACC play on a pleasant note. Not only did they win,
but they won a close game, which hasn't been their strong point lately.
Wake's Jamie Skeen got off a 30 footer at the buzzer, but it missed. Odds are
we don't have to remind you of last year's ACC opener for Tech, when Sean
Dockery wrote his name into Duke lore. Needless to say, that flashed in
front of Tech's collective eyes as Skeen's shot launched. For the rest of
his life people will be talking about that shot. There's something to be
said for being remembered that way.
You'll have to scroll down, but looks like Maryland's Will
Bowers has put in some heavy work to get ready for his senior season.
