Wake falls to 5-3 with the loss to DePaul, and it wasn't a close game or
anything remotely like that. DePaul shoved it down Wake's throat, scoring
20 of their first 22 in the lane, according to the
story posted on ESPN.

Here's one we missed - former Wake star Kenny Green's kid Wesley is playing
for DePaul.

Defense is an early theme in the ACC, as Wake, Maryland, Miami, and Georgia
Tech
all are struggling with their defenses. So to a lesser extent is
UNC, where Roy Williams made an exceptionally harsh (by UNC standards) remark
about his player's brains a couple of weeks ago.

And by the way, Tech and UNC are both struggling at the line, although
they're not quite at the bottom of the heap. Clemson, Virginia Tech and
Wake hold down the bottom spots, and bad free throw shooting is liable to cost
them some games. Wake and Virginia Tech show early signs of trouble, but
Clemson is 10-0, and despite the traditional soft early schedule, the team shows
some promise. But free throws might cost them.

Former UVa player Donte Minter is ready
to debut for Appalachian State.
