After Duke dismantled Wake despite considerable adversity, people seem to be
generally excited. One headline simply says "Who
is No. 2 in the ACC?"
There seems to be a bit of euphoria which, to us, is misguided.
Don't get us wrong, we love what this team is doing. But it hasn't won
anything yet, and we get the distinct impression that no one is measuring this
season by regular season wins and losses. So take both with a grain of
salt: when Duke loses, which they almost certainly will, possibly even
Wednesday, it won't be the end of the world. And winning any particular
game, though they all feel good, isn't rapture either.
Anyway, here are some links to various articles of interest, including the
return of DeMarcus Nelson, who showed he can still get over the rim despite
having recently broken his ankle. For all those of us who managed at one
time or another in life to put our fingers near or on the rim, it's just another
reminder of what athletic talent really is.
