Mo Currie was named ACC Player of the Week for the first time this season, and deservedly so. She averaged 18 ppg
against Wake, FSU and Maryland, and is really just starting to get warmed
up!
Lindsey Harding has been playing brilliantly this season and is closing
in on a first-team All-ACC spot. Here's a link on her season to date
before the FSU game.
The Tennessee game on January 23rd is now sold out. This will bring the relatively rare sight of
scalpers at a women's basketball game. If you have general admission
seats, I would advise coming early for the 7pm game. There are also fewer
than 1500 seats left for the Duke-UNC game on the 29th. Those will
disappear quickly as the game approaches, so if you're a Duke fan, you
should try to get tickets now.
A couple of quick historical notes: with the win over FSU, Coach G is
now 5th in all-time ACC wins, passing Jim Davis (formerly of Clemson).
She's 6th in all-time wins at an ACC school, just 8 games behind Davis.
Also, Monique Currie just moved ahead of Katie Meier with 1762 career
points, going into 4th place. Just ahead of her is Sue Harnett, with 1785
points. After that, there's a long trek to Chris Moreland's 2232 points.
