The main news of the day is that Maryland's Chris McCray has lost his eligibility to academics and thus, as a senior, his career is over. He can, however, appeal.

Not to rub salt in it, but maybe
if he had spent less time in bars he'd still be in school. The
Cornerstone Bar and Grill has
been a major problem for Maryland athletics and the College Park in general,
and the Chris McCray rule, which forbids Gary Williams' players from going
into bars, even though it didn't apply to Chris McCray in the Travis Garisson
arrest, was probably a good idea. Too bad they didn't seriously enforce
it.
You may remember that this was the scene of a
brawl by Maryland football players last fall, and as it turns out, Travis
Garrison emerged, in January, as the central figure in the investigation.
