We were somewhat puzzled by Bob Knight's apparent enthusiasm
about testifying for the NIT, an event which he might have some nostalgia
for but which we're sure he would also regard as a sign of failure should his
team be in it rather than the NCAA.
Then we realized who is running the NCAA now (Miles Brand, who fired Knight
at Indiana), and that, given his personality, Knight is constitutionally
incapable of any other course of action other than paying Brand back.
