When Randy Smith of the Journal Inquirer of Connecticut wrote after the
NCAA's mascot decision that "[i]t shouldn't be long before PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and the Audubon Society get involved
(to
protest names like Gamecocks)," he probably didn't think it would
happen three days later. Then again,
maybe they read his article.
