A couple of years ago, we said we'd take Tim Duncan over Shaquille O' Neal
any day, and we got ripped a few times for saying it. We'd still take him.
Duncan just wins, and
going up 2-0 over the Pistons is just another day in the life, really.
Teaming Duncan with Manu Ginobli, who has become probably our favorite
professional, was a pairing for the ages: cool and calculated paired with a
great improviser. It's hard to stop even for a great defensive team like
Detroit.
Speaking of Detroit, kudos to Larry Brown for
ripping the showbiz aspect of the finals. Who needs it? Shut up and
play. It's a good series, and the other stuff is just a distraction and a
disservice.
