One of the funniest things about the papers who cover Maryland is that they
are such homers. The Post is good at this, but in the last couple of
years, they've been surpassed as cheerleaders by the Washington Times, which
goes from press box rooting to embracing a Terp-centric view of the world,
including, naturally, an intense dislike of Duke.
So while we weren't surprised to read this Tom
Knotts column in the Times, a somewhat belated reaction to the AMEX
commercial, he does reach for the higher levels as a Duke hater in the working
press. Nice job!
