Congratulations to Richmond's Jerry Wainwright, who
has taken the DePaul job. That of course means another opening.
Don't expect to see a lot of Duke names involved, though. First of all,
the most likely candidate, Jeff Capel, works downtown, so he's out. And
secondly,
the Richmond A.D. is big on hiring an experienced coach. Last time, he
did take a look at Bob Bender.
Trivia we didn't know: John Beilein left Richmond for West Virginia without
even visiting the campus.
Three other guys considered last time: State assistant Larry Hunter, who
would be a very solid choice (he has head coaching experience), Davidson's Bob
McKillop, and Winthrop's Gregg Marshall, who has done some amazing things.
